Chambres d'Hôtes, Bed and Breakfast
Paraza is situated alongside the Canal du Midi, which was constructed in the 17th century by Pierre Paul Riquet. There are two restaurants in the village and there is a little grocery shop. And there are delightful weekly French markets in both Lezignan and Olonzac.
From the house you can make several walks. In the village you can hire good bikes with which you can make lovely tours. There are many kilometres of cycle routes. You can reach the Mediterranean beaches in half an hour by car and a daytrip to Spain also a possibility.
Between the Montagne Noir and the Pyrenees is the valley of the Aude, the river which gives its name to the department. Earthly or heavenly, orthodox or heretical, secret or open minded but always mysterious that is the Aude, the Cathar country.
Nature, culture and history go hand in hand here. The Aude is an area of winemaking. In the north there is the Minervois, in the south the Corbières and in the east the massif of La Clape. In every chateau or domaine you can taste and buy wine and each has its own character. And you can buy some wine to take home with you and remind you of your holiday.
